The Guru approved, and through the power of his concentration caused to appear four temples and eight subsidiary shrines as symbols of the four continents with their subcontinents and, in their midst, the main sanctuary to represent Mount Meru. Everything was enclosed by a surrounding wall,and was clearly visible for all to see.
"Great King," the Guru asked, "would a temple thus designed be pleasing to your Majesty?"The king was beside himself with joy. "This is beyond all I had imagined!" he cried. "Is such a building possible? If we succeed in making it like this, then Samye, or 'Beyond Imagination,' indeed shall be its name!"
“Do not be fainthearted, Great King!" replied the Guru."Simply act, you can not but succeed! You are the king. The people of Tibet are subject to your will, while all the gods and spirits I hold beneath my sway. How can we fail?"
The translators began their labors upon the Buddhist scriptures. But the Bonpo ministers, hostile tothe Dharma, as well as the Bonpos mentioned above, strove to throw obstacles in their path, and it happened on several occasions that certain of the translators were driven into exile. Finally, after the work had been halted for the third time, the Buddhist Sangha and the Bonpos decided to found their own separate communities,the latter also deciding to establish a burial ground at Yarlung.And for a time, there was peace between the king and his ministers.
Now,it came to pass that an invitation was sent to twenty one learned men of India,and the hundred and eight translators, who had been scattered in all directions, gathered again at Samye. From the thirteen divisions of the population, a multitude of three thousand men entered the monastic order together. And likewise from Zhang Zhung and other places,seven Bonpo scholarsand seven Bonpo wizards were invited to Ombu, the grove of tamarisks.

Sanctuary[ˈsæŋktʃueri]:避难所;庇护所;躲避处 A sanctuary is a place where people who are in danger from other people can go to be safe.
上师表示赞同,运用襌定力变现出四座庙宇和八座附属佛殿,作为四大洲、八小洲的象征,其间还有一座主要的佛寺,代表须弥山。这一切都由一道围墙所环绕,众人皆能清楚见到这个景象。
"Great King," the Guru asked, "would a temple thus designed be pleasing to your Majesty?"The king was beside himself with joy. "This is beyond all I had imagined!" he cried. "Do not be fainthearted, Great King!" replied the Guru."Simply act, you cannot but succeed! You are the king. The people of Tibet are subject to your will, while all the gods and spirits I hold beneath my sway. How can we fail?"
「大王,不要胆怯!」上师回答,「只要行动,就一定会成功!您贵为王,藏地的百姓都听从您的号令,而所有的神灵都在我的控制之下,我们怎么会失败?」
So Samye was built. The outer structure of the temples was finished, and they were filled to over flowing with representations of the Body, Speech, and Mind of the Buddhas.
桑耶因此建成。寺庙群的外围结构完成,内部满满都是诸佛身语意的象征物。
成立译师团队
The Sangha was established. A college of one hundred and eight great translators was founded, all of them extraordinary beings predicted by the Guru.
僧团建立,并成立一所一百零八位大译师的学院,这些大译师各个都是经莲师授记的非凡之人。
Likewise,three thousand men were called from the thirteen main divisions of the Tibetan people, and of their number, three hundred embraced the monastic life, ordained by the Abbot Shantarakshita and with the Guru as the irtantric master.The translators began their labors upon the Buddhist scriptures.
同样的,藏族十三个主要区域的三千名男子被传召而来,其中三百名经由寂护方丈剃度出家,以莲师作为续法上师,过起寺庙生活译师们开始致力于佛法典籍的翻译工作。

但是敌视佛教的苯教大臣和先前提到的苯教徒们,竭尽所能地障碍这些译师的道途,在许多情况下使得某些译师遭到流放。
Finally,after the work had been halted for the third time, the Buddhist Sangha and the Bonpos decided to found their own separate communities,the latter also deciding to establish a burial ground at Yarlung.And for a time, there was peace between the king and his ministers.
最后,在翻译工作第三次受阻停顿之时,佛教僧伽和苯教徒决定分别成立各自的圑体,苯教徒也在那时决定在雅聋建立一个坟场。君臣的和谐维持了一段时间。
