谤法也是舍法

SECTION 23. Disparaging the Dharma Is Also Forsaking the Dharma



对于甚深法,觉得不是正法,对正法生邪见进行诽谤,都是舍法业。

The misdeed of forsaking the Dharma also includes disparaging the Dharma just because one cannot comprehend some profound Dharma, mistaking it for unauthentic Dharma and holding wrong views on it.



比如,我们闻思的人为了维护宗派,以贪执自方、嗔恨他方的心,说新派的观点不合理,或者说噶举派的观点不合理、觉囊派的观点不合理等等,都是舍法罪。

For instance, in order to uphold one’s own tradition, having an attitude of clinging to one’s own lineage and hating other lineages, one may say the views of new schools are unreasonable or the views of Kagyü and Jonang are irrational. These are all misdeeds of forsaking the Dharma.



这样说的人,藏地在家男女中一般不多,就是出家人里有。

Usually laypeople don’t talk about it and it is monastics who like to comment in this way.

不过,以前新派、旧派僧团不和时,下面所属的在家人也随着他们造了很多舍法罪。

However, in the past when the Sangha of the earlier and new schools were in disharmony, lay followers also committed the misdeed of forsaking the Dharma under the guidance of monastics.


所以,不可诋毁正法宗派。

Therefore we should give up denigrating the genuine Dharma and lineages.



当今时代,真伏藏师与假伏藏师、真成就者与假成就者非常多,

In this age there are so many treasure revealers and accomplishers, whether genuine or pretended.


凡夫人无法分辨是真是假,因此应该不破不立,保持中立为是。

Since ordinary people are unable to distinguish the genuine from the pretended, it is good to be neutral, giving up assertions or refutations.


就像《经庄严论》中所说:

As it is said in the Ornament of the Great Vehicle Sūtra:


“意罪自性恶,

The flaw of the mind is that it is toxic by nature.


非理色非理,

Inappropriate even when directed at an unfavorable form,


疑法何须说,

it is obviously so when directed at the Dharma one doubts.


等舍善无过。”

Therefore being neutral is preferable, for then there is no fault.
