遇到困难时祈祷莲师，许多违缘会奇迹般地消失

When difficulties arise in life, it’s vital to pray to Guru Rinpoche

莲师是过去、现在、未来三世诸佛的总集，

Guru Padmasambhava* is the condensed essence of all the Buddhas of the three times.

尤其在当今时代，他是降伏一切鬼神魔怨的本尊。

Especially in this day and age, he is the mighty deity to subjugate all negative forces, malevolent spirits, and demons.

我从小就很喜欢莲花生大士，

Ever since I was young, I have felt a strong affinity to Guru Rinpoche.

回想自己的修行历程，莲师对遣除违缘的加持非常大。

Looking back on my spiritual journey, indeed, his blessings were everywhere, dispelling obstacles for me.

莲师有不计其数的祈祷文，但一切祈祷文之王，就是七句祈祷文。

There are numerous invocations to Guru Rinpoche, but the king among all these is the Seven Line Prayer.

它并不是莲师所造，而是十方诸佛祈祷莲师的祈祷文，

Guru Rinpoche did not compose this prayer. Rather, it is the supplication of all the Buddhas to him.

表面上只有七句，但实际上，它的功德跟如意宝没什么差别。

In appearance, this prayer contains only seven lines, yet its power is no different from that of a wish-granting gem.

《莲花遗教·空行母问答录》中说：“不管你发什么样的愿，只要祈祷莲师，皆能如愿以偿。”

The Advice from the Lotus-Born: A Collection of Padmasambhava’s Advice to the Dakini Yeshe Tsogyal and Other Close Disciples says, “As long as you invoke Guru Rinpoche, your wish will be granted, no matter what you are praying for.”

我们在遇到困难时，自己若实在解决不了，可以念七句祈祷文，

When we encounter difficulty that is beyond our ability to resolve, let’s recite the Seven Line Prayer.

只要一心一意地祈祷，莲师定会满你所愿。

Merely through our wholehearted prayer, Guru Rinpoche will fulfill our wishes without fail.

因为莲师曾亲口承诺：“如同孩子啼哭着呼唤母亲，母亲必不忍心抛弃他一样，任何人只要以恭敬心念七句祈祷文，莲师我必会应声降临，时时会赐予安慰、加持。”

Because Guru Rinpoche himself has made this promise, “When a disciple calls upon me with yearning devotion and chants the melodious song of the Seven Line Prayer, I shall come straightaway to bestow blessing and relief, like a mother who cannot resist the call of her child.”

七句祈祷文：

The Seven Line Prayer:†

Hum!

In the north-west of the land of Oddiyana,

In the heart of a lotus flower,

Endowed with the most marvelous attainments,

You are renowned as the “Lotus Born”,

Surrounded by many hosts of dakinis.

Following in your footsteps,

I pray to you: Come, inspire me with your blessing!

Guru Padma Siddhi Hung!

莲花生大士

若虔诚祈祷莲师，可化解一切不祥，迅速成就所愿。

原来我发心出家时，遇到了特别多的违缘，从种种相兆来看，似乎不能成功。

Years ago, when I made up my mind to enter the monastic order, many hindrances surfaced and circumstances seemed to preclude a favorable outcome for me.

于是我就抽出一段时间，专门念七句祈祷文。

I then set a time period to wholly recite this prayer.

虽然里面的修法不太懂，但从很多老人和上师口中得知，若以七句祈祷文祈祷莲师，所有的心愿都能如愿以偿，故而对它极有信心。

Even though I did not know how to practice it properly, my faith in it was very strong, as I had heard from many elders and lamas that one’s wishes would be granted by invoking Guru Rinpoche with the Seven Line Prayer.

后来，我通过特别虔诚的祈祷，终于顺利出家了，许多违缘也奇迹般地消失，让人不得不叹服莲师的加持。

Eventually, I was able to become ordained and many other obstacles disappeared miraculously. I could not help marveling at Guru Rinpoche’s power of blessing.

当然，在不信佛教的人眼里，或许认为我是故意吹捧。

Granted, in the eyes of non-Buddhists my account could seem exaggerated.

但通过多年的修行、祈祷，我确实再再体会到了它力量的强大。

But through my many years of practice and prayer, I have truly experienced, time and again, the Seven Line Prayer’s immense supremacy.

尤其在这个末法时代，众生成就比较慢，做事情效率特别低，想成办一项重要的事业，始终都是违缘重重。

Especially in this Dharma-degenerative age, sentient beings are predisposed to low efficiency and accomplishment. They are likely to meet many problems when trying to complete any key task at all.

此时若能祈祷莲花生大士，一切愿望很容易实现。

At times like this, if they beseech the blessing of Guru Rinpoche, all their wishes will be realized.

如果你对莲师有信心，但又不会念七句祈祷文，那就多念莲师心咒：“嗡啊吽 班则革日班玛色德吽”。

If you have faith in Guru Rinpoche but are unable to recite the Seven Line Prayer, then diligently recite the mantra of Guru Rinpoche, “Om Ah Hung Benza Guru Padma Siddhi Hung.”

我家附近的很多上师、出家人，包括一些在家人，特别爱念莲师心咒。

Near my old home, Guru Rinpoche’s mantra has been the favorite mantra to recite for many lamas, monastics and laypeople.

以前我父亲是文盲，一个字都不认识，但他每天坚持念莲师心咒，到死之前也没有中断过。

My father, being illiterate and knowing not a word, insisted on reciting this mantra, even up to his dying moment.

记得他每年发愿念100万遍，我从小就经常问：“您今年还差多少啊？”有时候还帮他算算念珠上的数量。

I remember he vowed to recite it a million times each year and I would check on him, “How many more to go for this year?” I also helped him count the number of repetitions he made on the mala.

念莲师心咒的功德不可思议，

The merit of reciting Guru Rinpoche’s mantra is inconceivable.

不过，现在许多人的发音不同，有的念“嗡啊吽 班则革日班玛色德吽”，有的念“嗡啊吽 贝扎咕噜贝玛悉地吽”，很难做到真正统一。

The mantra is usually pronounced in different ways: some say, “Om Ah Hung Benzer Guru Padma Sedha Hum,” while others say, “Om Ah Hung Benza Guru Pema Siddhi Hung.” It’s hard to unify all the articulations.

但总的来讲，只要你心清净，怎么念都能得到加持。

On the whole, however, as long as the recitation is done with a pure mind, blessings are invoked no matter which way it is recited.

我始终认为，得到诸佛菩萨的加持很重要。

I have always considered it crucially important to be granted the blessing of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.

假如你得到了，既可以改变自己，也可以改变他人。

Once we’re so endowed, changes will happen for the better, not only in ourselves but also in others around us.
