索达吉堪布：这个窍诀极为殊胜难得，望大家将此记在心中！
愿人人都掌握“刹那往生法”
May everyone master the practice of “instant transference of consciousness”
世界末日不一定到来，但每个人的死亡末日，却随时有可能突然降临。
The end of the world may not necessarily arrive but the end of each person’s life will—suddenly, and at any given moment.
对每一个人来讲，无论你信不信佛，死亡都是无法避免的。
For everyone, death is simply inescapable, whether one believes in Buddhism or not.
当然，每个人死的方式都不相同：
People die in all sorts of ways.
有的人是长年卧病在床，疾病缠身而死，有时间提前观想佛陀、念诵佛号；
Some die after long, bedridden years of illness, which may afford them some downtime to practice Buddha’s name recitation or visualization.
而有的人却是突然横死，根本措手不及，一瞬间就离开人间了，
Others, however, die abruptly and utterly unprepared. Before they know it, they have left this world.
这个时候，一定要用上“刹那往生法”。
It is in this situation that the practice of “instant transference of consciousness” must be applied.
什么是“刹那往生法”呢？
What, then, is this forceful “instant transference of consciousness” practice?
我们若遭遇地震、车祸、洪水、坠崖、雷击、中弹等危难时，来不及观想阿弥陀佛的身相、极乐世界的庄严等，
If we are hit by a sudden disaster—earthquake, car accident, flood, falling off a cliff, lightning strike, gunshot, and so on—and have no time to visualize Buddha Amitabha or his glorious Pure Land,
此时第一个念头：一定要想着自己的心识往上去。
our very first thought should be that of our consciousness shooting upward.
若能观想上方是阿弥陀佛，自己的心识融入阿弥陀佛心间，那是最好；
If we can picture Buddha Amitabha sitting on the crown of our head and our consciousness merging with his, that would be excellent.
如果不能，至少也要想心识往上去。
If not, at the very minimum, we must direct our awareness to the crown of our head.
有了这种意念，依靠三宝的加持力，一定不会堕落而获得解脱。
Focusing our attention this way and relying on the blessings of the Three Jewels, we definitely will not fall into the three lower realms.
这是莲花生大士在《六中阴》中极为殊胜的窍诀！
This is the most supreme pith instruction given by guru Padmasambhava in his Teachings on the Six Bardos.
这个方法说起来简单，但届时能不能用得上，就要看平时的准备了。
This practice is by no means complicated to explain, but its timely execution will depend on the proficiency each person has gained from daily training.
如果你在日常生活中，遇到一点紧急情况，甚至走路被石头绊了一下，也马上这样观想，
Whenever you encounter any crisis, even down to tripping over something while walking, see if you can immediately recall Buddha Amitabha on your head, or direct your attention straight to the crown of your head.
那么，久而久之后变成“本能”，一旦大难临头，就会马上想得起来。
If you’re able to do so, this means that your response has become second nature to you, which will come in handy should any disaster fall upon you.
否则，只是稍微了解一下，从来也没有训练过，那关键时刻很容易惊慌失措，什么窍诀都忘得一干二净。
On the other hand, if you only understand it superficially and have never engaged in actual practice, chances are that whenever great terror arises, you will be completely confused and all the pith instructions will escape you.
人死后到了中阴阶段，这时若能及时忆念阿弥陀佛，也能够往生，这是非常关键的！
Shortly after death, the consciousness enters the bardo state. If at this juncture one recalls Buddha Amitabha in time, one can still take rebirth in the Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.This is crucially important!
乔美仁波切说过：“到了中阴阶段，慢慢知道自己已死了，
Chagme Rinpoche teaches, “Arriving at the bardo state, you will slowly realize that you have died.
此时若祈祷阿弥陀佛、药师七佛（药师七佛曾发愿救度中阴身），他们就会现前，引领你前往清净刹土，或是八大菩萨前来接引。”
At that time, if you pray earnestly to Buddha Amitabha or to the Seven Medicine Buddhas (who have vowed to deliver beings from the bardo), these Buddhas or the Eight Great Bodhisattvas will appear to you and escort you to the Pure Land.”
倘若生前曾破过戒、毁过誓言，业力非常深重，此时明知在中阴界，也拼命忆念了诸佛菩萨，但什么感应都没有，这该怎么办呢？
For bardo beings who are burdened with heavy karma—a breach in samaya or transgressions of precepts—they may find that calling out to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas has no affect at all. What can be done then?
一定要想往生极乐世界，往西方去！
By all means, fiercely wish for a rebirth in the Pure Land! Go westward!
然而，中阴界没有日月，根本不知道“西”在哪里，这时你要一心一意祈祷阿弥陀佛，这样，阿弥陀佛定会现身指引。
As there is neither sun nor moon in the bardo, which way is west? Again, supplicate Buddha Amitabha using all your strength. When he is invoked, he will definitely appear and guide you.
值得一提的是，在前往西方极乐世界的途中，你可能会遇到昔日的亲朋好友，他们哭哭啼啼地求你不要离开。
It’s worth mentioning that on your way to the Western Pure Land, you may encounter former friends and loved ones who sob and beg you not to leave them.
这时你千万要注意：不要贪恋，不要被这些哀求的话语引诱，
When this happens you must be extremely cautious. No more clinging and grasping. Do not be tempted by their imploring pleas.
因为这是心魔幻化的障碍，要阻挠你不能顺利往生。
They are nothing but the obstacles created by mind’s demon to hinder your smooth rebirth in the Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
上述窍诀极为殊胜难得，望大家切莫等闲视之！
The aforementioned instructions from guru Padmasambhava are exceptionally rare and precious. Please do not take them lightly or casually.
不管你现在能否接受，最好先将此记在心中。
Foremost, bear them securely in your mind, even if you are not ready to accept them right now.
