有了无明愚痴，必然会遮覆我们暂时和长远的快乐。

Once ignorance and delusion are present, they are bound to obstruct our temporary and long-term happiness.

为什么呢？因为从无明中可以产生烦恼，烦恼又能引发恶业，

Why? From ignorance is born affliction; afflictions can then lead us to commit evil actions;

恶业又会牵扯出形形色色的痛苦。

and evil actions then bring on all manner of suffering.

由此可知，无明是烦恼与痛苦的来源，更是一切过患的根本。

From this you can see that ignorance is the source of affliction and suffering and the root of all faults.

每个众生的心中，都潜藏着一个大魔王，这就是无明愚痴。

Hidden within every being is a great demon king. This is none other than ignorance and delusion.

不知取舍善恶因果，不知闻思修行，这是一种愚痴；

Not understanding the effects of good or evil actions; not studying, reflecting on, and practicing the Dharma—this is a kind of delusion.

对远离戏论的空性并无点滴了解，这又是一种愚痴；

Not having any understanding of emptiness that is free from conceptual elaboration—this too is a kind of delusion.

对无欺因果的缘起性也丝毫不了达，这还是一种愚痴。

Not having a shred of comprehension of the dependent origination of infallible cause and effect—this is a kind of delusion as well.

所以，我们现在应断的，就是这种不知取舍的“愚痴”；

Therefore, what we need to eliminate now is this delusion of not understanding the effects of actions;

而最终必须要根除的，则是不通达诸法本性的“无明”。

what we need to uproot ultimately is the ignorance of not thoroughly realizing the nature of all phenomena.

假如无明愚痴在一个人心中隐藏着，那他就如被魔咒蛊惑了一样，

When ignorance and delusion are concealed within a person, it is as if he has been bewitched by an evil spell.

前途必定越来越黑暗。

His future will only become darker and darker.

对此，我们用什么方法才能遣除呢？

What methods can we use to dispel ignorance and delusion?

答案是唯一的：大慈大悲释迦牟尼佛的教言。

There is only one answer: the teachings of the most compassionate and loving Shakyamuni Buddha.

在这个世界上，唯有佛陀断尽了一切无明愚痴。

In this world, only the Buddha has cut through all ignorance and delusion.
