How do we calm the mind? The specific methods are as follows:
如何让内心平静呢?具体方法如下:
Firstly, choose a time when all our tasks are completed; close the doors and windows, and turn off phones and other sources of distraction; then rest in the sevenfold meditation posture of Vairochana.
首先要把其他事情处理完毕,并关闭门窗、电话等可能干扰内心的一切外缘,然后以毗卢七法的打坐姿势安坐。
Essential Points of the Body — Meditation Posture
1、身体的要点——坐姿
The seven essential points are:
主要包括七点:
1. The legs in a cross-legged position.
(1)盘腿坐于座垫之上。
2. The hands in the gesture of meditation (dhyana mudra) —palms facing up, the right hand placed on top of the left, thumbs touching each other — rest hands four fingers below the navel.
(2)左手放在下面,右手放在上面,两个拇指相碰,这叫做定印。将结定印的手,放在肚脐下方四指处。
3. The upper arms away from the body.
(3)两臂平张。
4. The body straight, the posture proper — without leaning left, right, front, or back.
(4)身体正直。不能左右、前后倾斜,要保持端正的姿势。
5. The head bent slightly forward.
(5)头部稍稍前倾。
6. The eyes slightly closed with the gaze directed toward the tip of the nose.
(6)双目微闭,往下直视鼻尖。
7. The tip of the tongue touching the palate — breathe normally, neither too quickly nor slowly. This allows every part of the body to relax; it also calms the mind very quickly.
(7)舌头抵住上鄂,呼吸的速度不要刻意加快或调慢,保持正常呼吸速度即可。这样就能让身体的每一部分,都非常放松,人也可以很快静下来。
