善心能带来最大的福报
A kind heart generates the best return
我们若唯一修学心地善良,不但可以蒙受诸佛菩萨加持,
If we single-mindedly cultivate a good heart, Buddhas and Bodhisattvas will bestow their blessings upon us.
今生的一切能称心如意,而且临终时,也不会感受气息分解的剧烈痛苦,
In this present life all will go well, and at death we’ll not suffer severe pain when our life force collapses.
生生世世都能获得不可思议的安乐。
Moreover, in many lives to come we’ll enjoy incredible happiness.
《水木格言》中说:不管是出家在家、高贵贫贱,心地善良都是做人的根本,
It is said in A Hundred Waves of Elegant Sayings that no matter who you are—a layperson or a monastic, rich or poor, noble or humble—you need a kind heart to be a decent person.
有了它,做什么事情都容易成功。
With kindness, any task can be accomplished with ease.
如果你一心利益他人,即使根本不求回报,回报有时候也会突如其来。
If you focus on benefiting others without expecting anything in return, rewards will simply come.
在藏地,有一次阿底峡尊者感到手痛,就把手放入在家弟子仲敦巴的怀里,说:“请给我加持一下,因为你有一颗善良的心。”
One day, Lord Atisha’s hand hurt and he laid it in the lap of his lay disciple, Dromtonpa, saying, “You who are so kindhearted, bless my hand!”
像阿底峡尊者那样鼎鼎有名的人,竟然让弟子加持,难道是他实在找不到人加持了,走投无路之下只好向弟子求助吗?
How could a great master like Atisha ask for a blessing from his own disciple? Was he so desperate that he could find help nowhere but from his own disciple?
当然不是。
That was not at all the case.
虽然按理来讲,应该是弟子生病让上师加持,没听说过上师生病让弟子加持的。
Normally, it’s the teacher who confers blessings upon students, not the other way around.
但这个故事阐明了一个道理:
But this story serves to illustrate a point.
无论上师还是弟子,只要为人善良,哪怕他吹一口气,或者给人念经,都肯定对众生有利。
A kind heart enables a person, whether a teacher or a student, to benefit beings in all activities, even down to blowing a puff of air or reading a scripture.
一个心地善良的人,加持会特别大。
The power of a blessing is most pronounced from a person of great kindness.
藏地常有这种说法:“这位大成就者非常了不起,让他念经加持加持,这件事情肯定会顺利成办。为什么呢?因为他的心太好了!”
There is a saying in Tibet: “This master is extraordinary; if he grants his blessings through the recitation of mantras, a task can definitely be accomplished smoothly. Why? Because he is so compassionate!”
在藏地,任何一个寺院,若有一位心地善良的大德居住,当地人就有了依靠处。
In Tibet, if a compassionate person resides in a monastery, that monastery becomes the refuge that local people seek,
即便不是大成就者、大修行人,只是个一般的老人或居士,
even if this person is merely an ordinary lay elder, not a great master or an accomplished siddha.
但心地善良的话,人们也会把他当作菩萨。
Ultimately, having a heart brimming with loving-kindness is consistent with one who bears the title of Bodhisattva.
我们若唯一修学心地善良,不但可以蒙受诸佛菩萨加持,
If we single-mindedly cultivate a good heart, Buddhas and Bodhisattvas will bestow their blessings upon us.

记得《中阿含经》讲过:
I remember a verse in the Middle Agama Sutra that says,
“死时生善心,心所有法,正见相应。
“If you generate kind thoughts at the moment of death, your whole mind is in tune with the right view.
彼因此缘此,身坏命终,生善处天中。”
Through this causal factor, you will be reborn in the blissful realm of heaven after you die.”
反过来,“死时生不善心,心所有法,邪见相应。
Conversely, “If you generate evil thoughts at the moment of death, your whole mind is in tune with the wrong view.
彼因此缘此,身坏命终,生恶处地狱中。”
Through this causal factor, you will fall to the miserable realm of hell after you die.”

就像弗莱明,他本是个穷苦的苏格兰农夫,有一天在田里工作时,听到附近泥沼里有人发出求救的哭声,于是赶紧放下农具跑过去,发现一个孩子掉到了里面,就忙把他救了出来。
隔天,一辆崭新的马车停在他家门口,走下来一位优雅的绅士,他说:“我要报答你,你救了我儿子一命。”
农夫拒绝道:“我救人不求任何回报。”
就在这时,农夫的儿子从屋外走进来。绅士问:“这是你的儿子吗?”
农夫骄傲地回答:“是。”
绅士说:“我们订个协议,让我带走他,让他接受良好的教育,将来他一定会成为令你骄傲的人。”农夫答应了。
后来,农夫的儿子从圣玛利亚医学院毕业,成为举世闻名的弗莱明·亚历山大爵士,也就是青霉素的发明者,他在1945年获得了“诺贝尔医学奖”。
数年后,绅士的儿子染上肺炎,正是青霉素救了他的命。那位绅士的儿子是谁呢?就是英国首相丘吉尔。
一个农夫的一点点善心,就给世界带来了如此重大的变化。可见,善心的力量不可小觑。
