When this becomes a habit, others view everything they do as dishonest.

暂时看来，他的事情也能成功，但其后必将走向衰败。

They may find some success in the short term, but they will definitely lose out in the long run.

这种人就像山上的水，刚开始是高高在上，但渐渐地就会越来越下降，再也没有上升的机会。

These people are like water flowing from a mountaintop, which starts up high but gradually descends lower and lower and cannot rise again.

所以，以狡诈的行为来成办事业，既虚伪又不可靠，

Accomplishing one’s endeavors through deceit is both dishonest and unreliable.

最终也不会得到长远的利益。

In the end, one will not gain any long-term benefits.

相比之下，有些人行为公正、诚实，经常以慈悲心来对待一切。

In comparison, some people’s actions are honest and just, and they meet everything with compassion and lovingkindness.

即使有些人因嫉妒而伤害他，让他暂时心里生起一点厌烦，

If someone harms them out of jealousy, they experience fleeting irritation.

但究竟来讲，他不但不会倒下，事业反而会越来越兴盛。

Ultimately, not only will they not fail, but they will find increasing success.

爱耍小聪明的人，看似精明，实则愚笨。

People who like to play clever tricks may seem shrewd, but they are actually rather foolish.

他们情不自禁只关心眼前的蝇头小利，从没想过自己的所作所为会让很多事适得其反。

They are focused only on small immediate gains and never consider that their actions will often accomplish the very opposite of what they seek.

而具有大智慧、大能力的人，眼光就比较深远，

In contrast, people with great wisdom and capabilities tend to see farther and deeper;

一切都是为了长远打算，

they always plan for the long term.

这样的人，他的今生来世必将成熟无止无尽的安乐。

These people are bound to realize limitless happiness and peace in their present and future lives.
