一、分句对译

From the gorges in the south will come an emanation of the Guru's Mind.

Renowned as Marpa, he will propagate the teachings of the Secret Mantra, And Tsogyal, I myself, will be his wife and consort.

One called Mila will appear and,

Practicing austerities, will gain accomplishment.

南方峡谷玛尔巴，

莲师意化身传密，

措嘉将为彼佛母。

复现名曰密勒者，

修持苦行证成就。

An emanation of the Lotus Guru's Qualities

Will appear in Dhakpo;

Dri, Tak, Kar and Druk will gush forth like the streams of Kailash:

An ocean of the Doctrine, bliss-bestowing, will pervade.

功德化身现达波，

直、达、噶、竹四支派，

如神山河涌流出，

赐大乐法海遍处。

At the time when people start to age at forty,

The Doctrine will disperse and crumble, the Teachings will rely

Upon the mainstay of the Horpa and Mongolian hordes.

Tibet will be partitioned into bits and parcels,

Looking like an ulcerated skin.

四十岁始衰老时，

法教崩溃瓦解散，

霍、蒙牧民以为依，

藏地划为大小处，

形貌犹如溃烂肤。

The Lotus-Born's Activity will then appear as karma.

The Doctrine will be spread throughout Tibet,

Its life extended for a further thirty years.

The sacred sound of Mani will pervade the kingdom.

莲师事业因缘现，

教法再传遍藏地，

法寿得延三十载，

六字密音国土响。

When thirty marks the stage when age begins to fall,

The doctrine of the Virtuous ones will come to birth.

A Suchness emanation of the Lotus-Born will take his birth in U,

And Tibet will be as happy as a heaven of the gods.

三十岁始衰老时，

善律教法将出现，

莲师眞如化于卫，

藏地喜乐如天道。

A descendant of the Zahor line and powerful lord of men,

Will propagate the teachings in U, Tsang and Kham.

This will pass away 

Tibet will sink in misery; all will be undone;

Everyone will seek support from Horpas and from Mongols.

大力人主沙霍裔，

广传法教卫、藏、康，

然而尽逝,

藏地沦难遍倾毁，

尽从霍蒙求援助。

When old age comes when twenty years have passed,

An emanation of the Speech of Padmasambhava

Will come in Lhodrak, restoring happiness to beings.

And a Dharma king, a birthmark on his shoulder, will arise in Li.

二十岁始衰老时，

莲语化身现洛札，

重建众生之安乐，

记法王理地兴。

Then, when life attains its fullness at the age of ten, 

The Doctrine, dwelling then in foreign lands, will fail.

The present cycle will have reached its trough,

And emanations will be only masks and shadows,

The essence of the earth will fail:

The black age Dudjom Nagpo Gyachu will be here.

人寿十岁成熟时，

住异域法渐衰退，

此周期将至谷底，

化身不过假面、影，

大地精华转衰弱，

此地将入黑暗期，

敦珠•拿波•嘉秋也。

After this will be the coming of Maitreya, and all will be revived.

A falling cycle then, and two to rise,

And yet a third, and four more spans of time.

直至弥勒来降临，

一切方能再复苏,

其后一衰二盛期，

第三第四等周期。

These, then, are but simple generalities.

Consult the teachings of the Lotus-Born

For how to counteract the troubles of the periods of transition.

For his word is true, unable to deceive.

此为简要粗略言，

且阅莲花生教导，

以御过渡期纷扰，

眞实不虚莲师语。

And Yeshe Tsogyal, I indeed,

Will never leave Tibet untouched by my compassion.

伊喜•措嘉之悲心，

常系藏地永不弃。
