"No sooner had I finished than the Guru himself appeared in the air before me, enfolded in a globe of light, smiling, and so close that I might have touched him. And he said:

Listen, noble mistress, maid of Kharchen!
You, the daughter of a princely house,
Still want your beauty and your pleasures!
As before, you cannot bear with hardships!
But now the time has come
To take both joys and sorrows on the path.
Whatever hardships now may fall to you,
Bring them to the path of Great Felicity!
Faithful, gentle lady, do not thirst for happiness!
Kyema!
Listen, mistress, maid of Kharchen,
Youthful consort of the king and ne'er contented!
Tangled, as before, in self-regarding wants!
But now the time has come
To cast aside all needless pastimes.
Meditate on transience, reflect
Upon the states of sorrow.
Faithful, gentle lady, do not thirst for greatness!
Kyema!
Listen, mistress, maid of Kharchen,
Consort of the Guru, conceited and self-satisfied!
As before, you think so highly of yourself!
But now the time has come
To tell your own shortcomings.
Do not hide your hidden faults but lay them bare.
Faithful, gentle lady, do not thirst for reputation!
Kyema!
Listen, mistress, maid of Kharchen,
Your Dharma's just a boast, your pieties all false!
And as before, it's all pretension!
But now the time has come
To cast away deceit and trickery.
Do not waver.
Be courageous.
Faithful, gentle lady, do not flaunt yourself!
"When he had finished speaking, he stepped down onto the ground and sat on a rock. 'You are taking things to excess,' he said. 'Extract the essence of medicinal herbs and plants so as to develop the strength of your awareness and restore your body.As for myself, I, Padmasambhava, existing only for the sake of wandering beings, am mindful of the future, until the very emptying of samsara. I will conceal many Treasures of the Sacred Dharma, which shall be forever inexhaustible. Then I must away to Ngayab, realm of dakinis! The care of these profound Treasures, Lady, will be your task. In a short while, I will open many mandalas of the unsurpassable Secret Mantra, and the time will come for you to work for the sake of beings. Therefore prepare yourself.' Giving me this and other more extensive instructions, he departed.
