虽然，你与眼下很多人相比还过得去，但世间一定还有你不知道的、比你更优秀的人物让你相形见绌。

You may compare well with many people around you, but in this world there must be some you do not know who can outshine you.

年轻的时候，要怀有一颗谦虚朴实的心，对无常有着充分的准备，

When you are young, you should have a humble heart and be fully aware of impermanence.

别以为万法会恒常不变。

Do not think that any phenomenon is constant or unchanging.

在我的一生中，曾看到很多地位显赫的人，后来堕落到了极其可怜的地步。

In my life, I have witnessed many people of prominence fall to pitiful positions in the end.

富裕的人一下贫穷，穷人转眼变成富人，

A wealthy person suddenly becomes poverty-stricken; a poor person turns wealthy in the blink of an eye.

这个大地上的事物，变化真是太大了。

Everything on this earth undergoes similar drastic changes.

富贵无常犹如空中的浮云，

The impermanence of wealth is like a cloud floating in the sky.

地位无常宛如山顶的云雾，

The impermanence of status is like mist shrouding a mountaintop.

美名无常如同空谷的回声。

The impermanence of good reputation is like an echo in an empty valley.

当别人羡慕你的容貌、才华、智慧等时，

When others envy your looks, talent, wisdom, and so forth,

请记住：这犹如在梦中赞叹我们一样，没有多大实义！

please remember that this is like being praised in a dream and has little substance or meaning!

尽管这些东西对世人比较重要，

These things are quite important to worldly people,

但临终时没有一样能带得走，

but when we are dying, there is nothing in the world that we can bring along with us;

肯定全部留在人间。

everything must definitely be left behind.

因此，对名声、财富、地位等世间法，我们最好不要有强烈的贪执，

Hence, it is best if we do not crave and tightly cling to worldly concerns like reputation, wealth, and status.

否则，只会让自己无休止地痛苦。

Otherwise, we will only experience endless suffering.
