And joining her hands in supplication, she laid out the gold in little heaps.

The seven thieves did not understand her words, but the sound of the Lady's voice touched their hearts. They reached the first level of samadhi and, staring at her with wide open eyes, they said in the language of Nepal: "Ah, Mistress! Where do you come from? Who are your noble parents? Who is your teacher? What is the reason for your coming here? Please, we beg you, sing to us again." Their wild and shaggy hair, which had been fierce and bristling, became smooth, their faces merry with smiles. Their ferocious expressions melted away, and they grinned happily so that you could see their teeth. They gathered in front of the Lady and she, leaning on that three-jointed bamboo staff of hers, sang to them in the language of Nepal.

Seven brigands   linked to me by karma from the past!

The mental   states of spite and anger

Are Primal   Wisdom, mirror-like.

Wrathful   anger, fixing on the enemy—

From nowhere   else does shining clarity arise.

Simply watch   it: that is Vajrasattva.

Do not cling   to things as they appear,

But let   emptiness arise.

The home of   me, this girl, is "Joy-made-manifest,"

The voidness   of a pure and peaceful Buddha-field,

World of the   Sambhogakaya.

I am not   attached to forms and namings of convention,

Therefore, if   you want the lovely land

Of me, your mother, I will take you there.

Supplication: 恳求,祈愿

措嘉女双手合十祈请,并将黄金分成小堆后放下。

七名盗贼并不了解她的话语,然而尊女的语音却触动了他们的心。



They reached the   first level of samadhi and, staring at her with wide open eyes, they said in   the language of Nepal:

他们达至第一阶段的三摩地,并且瞠然凝望着措嘉,用尼泊尔语问道:


"Ah,   Mistress! Where do you come from? Who are your noble parents? Who is your teacher?   What is the reason for your coming here? Please, we beg you, sing to us   again."


「啊,夫人!妳来自哪里?妳高贵的双亲是谁?妳的老师是谁?妳来这里的目的是什么?拜托,我们乞求妳,再次对我们歌唱。」


盗贼的巨变


Their wild and   shaggy hair, which had been fierce and bristling, became smooth, their faces   merry with smiles.


他们狂野蓬松的头发,向来都是令人害怕且竖立,如今却变得柔顺;他们的面容如今快活微笑,



Their ferocious   expressions melted away, and they grinned happily so that you could see their   teeth.


原本凶狠的表情融化成快乐的咧嘴笑容,连牙齿都看得见。



They gathered in   front of the Lady and she, leaning on that three-jointed bamboo staff of hers, sang to them   in the language of Nepal.

Staff: (old-fashioned,or formal) a long stick used   as a support when walking or climbing, as a weapon, or as a symbol of   authority 拐杖;棍棒;权杖

盗贼们群聚于尊女身前,而她则是倚靠在自己的三叉杖上,用尼泊尔语对他们唱道:

于敌所起忿恨怒,

闪耀明性此处生。

观之即金刚萨埵。

仅是任随空性起。

吾家乃为乐显圜,


The voidness of   a pure and peaceful Buddha-field,

净寂佛土虚空性,

亦即报身佛剎土。


I am not   attached to forms and namings of convention,

Therefore, if   you want the lovely land

Of me, your   mother, I will take you there.


常俗名色吾不执,

若欲汝母妙土地,

吾将领汝至彼处。
